Experiencing immersion in nature means becoming aware of our planet’s beauty. True to its eco-responsible values, the Refuge de la Traye became a partner in 2024 of the CSFS / Tétras Libre association, dedicated since 2015 to the protection of wildlife in Savoy. Opened in 2020 in Montagnole, its safeguard centre cares for animals, injured or in distress, before restoring them to their natural environment. “90% of them are direct or indirect victims of human activities,” says the association’s Chairman, Marie-Sophie Saintillan. They include foxes, squirrels, hedgehogs and birds, depending on the season. A noble, vital centre made possible by a team of carers and precious collaborators such as the Refuge de la Traye. As a vital sponsor of the care centre, the prestigious Alpine hamlet now hosts awareness days for families with entertaining workshops on how to adopt good reflexes. An ambitious partnership which may well be reinforced over time, especially with “activities on special themes, such as hiking in nature to raise awareness among as many people as possible,” says Marie-Sophie Saintillan.
