Monaco has a special place in my heart as this is where I grew up. I also recharge my batteries here after the Grand Prix season. It is always great to come home when you travel a lot. My family, friends, everyone who counts for me, live here. Monaco's charm lies in the fact that it has everything offered by a large city. Yet it's like a village, everyone knows each other. It has something about it I have found nowhere else.
There are so many things to see in Monaco. Though there are three places I would place at the top of the list. First, the Museum of Oceanography. I went there often as a child, it's a wonderful experience. Then you must also see the legendary Place du Casino and Place du Palais, a symbolic site I have always loved.
It starts with a workout in the gym, then I set off to the Larvotto to meet friends for lunch, facing the sea. Recently refurbished, it is a magnificent neighbourhood. Then, after a fun time on the beach, I head for the harbour at the end of the afternoon to relax with a drink. Finally, for dining, you are spoilt for choice. We are fortunate to have superb restaurants in Monaco. My favourite is Le Maya Bay.
The Monaco Grand Prix, of course! As a racing driver, this event is hugely important in my life. It is really special for me to drive each year in Formula 1 through streets I rode the bus on to go to school, or close to places that left a mark on my childhood, such as the pool where I learnt to swim.
