Presentation

In the Monégasque language, "Picapeira" means a stone mason. A name that seems obvious for this residence in the neighbourhood of La Rousse, mostly built of natural stone. While playing host to 14 apartments, Le Picapeira differs from the large residential complexes surrounding it thanks to sustainable, so-called bio-climatic, architectural design which adapts to suit its environment and climate while benefiting from them as much as possible. The promise offered to residents? Living conditions of enhanced comfort and quality, together with well-controlled energy consumption. For this, everything has been meticulously planned in an indoor/outdoor rationale (and vice versa): the study of air circulation, thermal insulation management, installation of a photovoltaic roof, design of bay windows etc. Thanks to their orientation, these windows allow for the rooms to be well-ventilated in summer and more effectively heated in winter, due to their exposure to natural light. Real thermal (and acoustic) buffers, these very special windows, also designed to limit the neighbourhood's inherent problem of being overlooked, mark the identity of Le Picapeira which elegantly blends practicality and energy sobriety.
